Biography
Razvan Dabu graduated Faculty of Electronics from the Polytechnic Institute Bucharest. He completed his PhD at the Central Institute of Physics, Bucharest, in 1977. Till 2013 he worked in the National Institute of Lasers, Bucharest-Magurele, as head of Solid State Laser Laboratory. His main fields of interest are solid state laser physics and engineering, nonlinear optics, ultrafast lasers and their applications. Currently he is a senior researcher in the team of the Extreme Light Infrastructure – Nuclear Physics project. He has published more than 50 papers, many of them in reputed journals like Applied Optics, Optics Express, Optics Letters, Optics Communications, Journal of Applied Physics, Optics and Laser Technology, Optical Engineering.
Research Interest
His main interest is directed to Solid State Lasers Physics and Engineering (nanosecond lasers, ultrashort laser pulses generation and detection, diode-pumped solid-state lasers, microchip lasers) nonlinear optics (harmonics generation, parametric oscillation), laser ablation and thin films deposition , lasers for material processing, medical laser applications
